Aeolian Duo Art Organ Console

from Opus 1658

This is the console from Aeolian Opus 1658. According to The Aeolian Pipe Organ and Its Music it was sold to Courtland S. Brown of Los Angeles in 1926. From his residence it went to a church and then to the loft of a private residence in Big Bear Lake, California. I acquired the organ in the early 70's and moved it to an organ club in China Lake,, California. When I left California in 1976, I couldn't find anyone who was interested in a complete working Aeolian Duo Art pipe organ so everything but the console was sold. The proceeds were used to buy a wedding ring for my wife to be, and all I have left is the console, a collection of rolls, (and the wife after 40 years:-).

Now it is time to pass it on to someone younger.

I'm willing to give the console and some additional parts from a concertola to anyone who is interested for free. I do the hard-nosed calculation that I could send the console to the landfill and sell the rolls So if someone wants the rolls with the console, I'd like some money to change hands. But I'm also a collector, I don't want to see even a console junked, so we can talk. For those interested in the rolls here is a list; by number, by title
