Typical of stove that would have been in Green Gables at the turn of the century. This stove may be from the 30's, but it is very much what would have been in use in 1900.

The Copper Clad wood stove in the kitchen was originally used in a cabin in Maggie Valley, NC. The granddaughter of the original owners donated it to Green Gables early in 2024.

Copper Clad stoves were manufactured and sold well into the 1930’s by the Malleable Iron Company of St. Louis. Wood cook stoves were a common item in rural homes well into the 1960’s and are still used today, although more as curiosities.
